Kids Kamp

Volunteers from the fishing club make "Kids Fishing Kamp" possible each year and you can volunteer on the contact page of the website. Volunteers are invited to the annual POA Christmas party if they volunteer for four sessions.

The children rate fishing kamp as one of their favorite activities. It is really great to get kids outdoors in our technological age of computers and Iphones. They learn to have fun and appreciate nature.

The children are closely supervised making it a safe and fun activity. There are at least ten adult volunteers in each session to ensure that the kids stay a safe distance from the water.  Members also keep a close watch for any alligators and the kids learn not to feed, harass or approach them. They also learn to safely catch and release the fish (or turtle). Actually, the volunteers enjoy Kamp as much as the kids.
